Overview

Brook Turf lawns grow Dwarf Kikuyu grass, a turf perfectly suited to the South Australian climate. It can handle our hot summers and mild winters all while being extremely soft under foot, with a beautiful green colour and using less water. Our kikuyu grass turf has the ability to repair itself if damaged and is ideal for high traffic areas or those with kids or dogs. Must be laid immediately after delivery for best results.

Laying Instructions

  1. Lay as soon as possible after delivery — preferably on the day of delivery.
  2. Lay on quality sandy loam with weeds and grasses completely removed.
  3. Water immediately after laying until soaked underfoot.
  4. Keep moist for 10 days with morning and night watering.

Watering Instructions

  1. First watering should soak the lawn until soggy underfoot.
  2. Keep moist for 10 days after laying.
  3. Regular watering and mowing support a healthy vibrant lawn.

Mowing & Maintenance

  1. Mow at not longer than 7 days from laying.
  2. Continue mowing at regular intervals during spring and summer.
  3. Growth slows in cooler months.
  4. Brook Turf recommends our starter pack fertilizer when laying your new turf.
  5. A harsh mow in early October to reduce thatch and give you the best lawn throughout summer with minimal watering once established.
  6. Fertilise in late autumn to improve colour through the lawn's dormant period in winter.

Excellent turf variety for shady areas and also excellent for full sun areas. Sapphire buffalo has a finer leaf in comparison to other buffalos. Low water requirements once established.
